We help you compare propane forklifts by capacity, lift height, tire type and application. Contact Best Buy Forklift for availability, pricing and a freight quote.
Choosing a Propane Forklift for Your Operation
Propane forklifts use an internal-combustion engine fueled by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Choosing the right truck starts with your loads, working environment and daily operating needs. Fuel type alone does not determine which forklift is the best fit for your business.
Start with your load and site requirements
Tell us the weight and dimensions of the loads you handle, your required lift height and the equipment you currently use. Include any attachments, unusual loads or application details so we can help you compare suitable models.
Measure doorways, overhead restrictions and the areas where the truck will travel. Share your aisle dimensions, floor or yard conditions and tire requirements. A model that looks suitable on a product page still needs to be checked against your actual application and the manufacturer’s specifications.
Compare propane and electric honestly
Propane and electric forklifts each have operating requirements to consider. Electric forklifts do not produce engine exhaust at the point of use. Propane forklifts do produce exhaust, and indoor operation requires adequate ventilation and attention to carbon monoxide exposure.
OSHA identifies exhaust accumulation as a hazard when combustion-powered forklifts operate in enclosed areas. Review your site conditions, ventilation, equipment maintenance and operating procedures with your workplace safety personnel before selecting equipment for indoor use. See OSHA’s guidance on enclosed work areas.
For electric forklift options, consider charging arrangements and the requirements of the specific battery and charger. Compare individual models rather than assuming that one fuel type always lifts more, costs less or suits every workplace.
Plan for operation and maintenance
Compare the purchase price with the costs and arrangements for fuel or charging, scheduled maintenance and service support. Your operating hours, shifts, local energy costs and equipment condition all belong in that comparison. Avoid choosing a truck on an advertised fuel saving alone.
Ask about the service history and condition of any used unit. Confirm the mast, forks, tires, attachments and included equipment on the actual truck being quoted. Warranty coverage, where offered, should be confirmed in the written sales quote for that equipment.
Browse equipment and request a delivered quote
Explore our new forklift listings or used forklift inventory. Contact us to confirm current availability, specifications and pricing before making a purchase decision.
For a freight quote, provide the equipment model, quantity, delivery ZIP code, business or residential location, access restrictions and unloading equipment available onsite. Freight depends on the equipment and destination. Customers are responsible for unloading; special delivery requirements must be discussed before shipment.
Request a quote from Best Buy Forklift or call/text 818-232-6647. We will help you compare equipment options and confirm the equipment, applicable tax, freight and payment arrangements for your order.
